Thanks God!! I´m done with my Teaching Practicum I.

What a nice introduction to present you my last class, isn´t it? This time I will try to be as objective as possible in my explanation.

As I mentioned in my previous class, I felt really frustrated by the fact of being assigned with the material to be done in class, and this chance wasn´t the exception....he gave me the topics to be developed. Moreover, I decided to change the way to present the reading.

The title was : TELEPORTATION AND FORCE FIELDS POSSIBLE WITHIN DECADES

I did a PDP class, I started with a brainstorming activity and I ask their personal opinion about words such as : ovni, wormhole, invisibility, teleportation, etc. As always, some of them gave very clever answers, some others were like lost in a parade...but, the presentation of the reading was really nice. I include several short videos for them to clarify their doubts about the previous words, and as a preview of the following activities.

After that, I divided the class into 3 teams and I called them class I, class II, and class III in relationship with the 3 different types of impossibilities that Michio Kaky mentioned in the famous reading.

I made a raffle for them to work in group but randomly. So, the tasks begun and they were assigned to perform 3 different tasks, 1) Class I read about UFO, Class II read about Wormholes, and Class III read about Precognition. 2) I gave a T/F activity to every single participant in every group, and 3) They had to name a representative from each group, write a 10 lines paragraph, and share their own point of view according to the reading.

I can tell you that I really enjoyed the class, they were working all the time, reading, answering the questions, writing their essay, etc, etc, suddenly time was almost over and we started to reveal the correct and wrong answers....

At the end, I thanked all of them for all the help they gave me during my classes, shared some candies, and  wished them the best for the rest of their major !!!

Now, I want to say thank you for your help commenting every single class I did...as I said, we´re done with Teaching Practicum I, and I know we´re not the same that we were 6 months ago....So, keep working my dear friends and see you next semester!!!!

  1. That is the greatest introduction ever! hahaha I am glad you are done. I just miss one class, and that's it! Well, I want to congratulate you! I still remember that reading hahaha. It was a very good way to develop new vocabulary and structures. You did very well, and of course, you managed this situation very well. The students had fun and so did you! That makes your class a good one since you all had fun and learned at the same time. It was great that you wished them the best in their majors. Keep up for the next course! Cheers my cicada leader!

  2. Finally done my friend...I want to congratulate you because overall you could develop a nice and motivative class.
I love the way you make them work in groups. Have them mixed was a nice idea because we help students to help themselves and as a group.
The videos were very nice and significant for the students. They like the variety of stimuli and you were able to provide that to them.
    Nice work sarita

  4. Awww...thank u Mrs. Sarita Pacheco for all your comments too, I really appreciate them!!
Congratulations for your great job! I really like the activities that you implemented; I like the fact that you used videos because they are always helpful in order to help ss understand things or to introduce vocabulary too. In addition, I like the fact that you had ss thinking, producing their own ideas in regard with the reading as well as in the brainstorming at the beginning of the class, which was meaningful for their learning.
The topic was not easy, in my opinion; it was not even in Spanish nevertheless you did a terrific job with it!! So, congrats once again!!!

  5. Hi. This topic is not an easy one. It´s not only a matter of planning the activities but also of having some knowledge about it. Of course ,you have the ability to manage all these challenges diligently and boldly and you did a great job since the students were busy dealing with a lot of work.
Thanks for sharing your ideas, techniques, games and everything related to teaching.

  6. Hello Sarita! I see you enjoyed all the classes with no exception, and I think the key is enjoying. In this class, I see you planned something meaningful for your students. It was a nice idea to divide the class in 3 groups. You work in an unusual but pretty fine way.

You made the class be attractive, thought-provoking, and interesting. You made the class work on their own, so you were just a facilitator, and that is cool. BTW, I really like your introduction. Also, as you say, now, we have learned a lot. Experience is what matters, the rest is information said Eisntein.
Finally,CONGRATULATIONS. keep doing your best. I know you're a great teacher! Blessings!
